Class Description: Letting Go: Discovering the Freedom and Joy of Watercolor is a class designed to help students embrace the fluid and unpredictable nature of watercolor. Through guided exercises and playful experimentation students will learn to release control, trust the process, and find joy in creative expression. This course encourages spontaneity, bold color choices, and expressive brushwork, fostering confidence and artistic freedom. Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike, it’s an opportunity to explore watercolor in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Supplies: 140lb watercolor paper block, size 9x12 or 11x14 will work
Round #6 or #8 brush (with a good point) Flat #2 or #4 brush Daggar - either 1/4 or 1/2 size
Watercolor paint colors: Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue Quinacridone Rose Aureolin (Cobalt Yellow) Burnt Sienna
Mixing palette or white plastic/ceramic plate - 8” or larger
Paper towels
Small spray bottle
Masking tape 2 water containers (mason jars work well)

Taraleigh Bennett is a passionate watercolor and oil artist known for her expressive and intuitive approach to painting. With a deep appreciation for the fluidity and spontaneity of watercolor and the bold richness of oil, she embraces each medium’s unique qualities to create works that are vibrant, dynamic, and full of life. Through her art and teaching, Taraleigh encourages others to let go of perfectionism and discover the joy of creative freedom. Whether guiding students in workshops or developing her own evocative pieces, she seeks to inspire a sense of playfulness, curiosity, and connection to the present moment.

Refund Policy: Participants have 30 days prior to class to notify TAF of changes or cancellations to their registration status to receive a full refund or apply fees to future art class. Closer than 30 days to start of class, registration fees will not be refunded and will be donated to the Timpanogos Arts Foundation.
