Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved classic, The Secret Garden, blossoms anew in this enchanting musical by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. When young Mary Lennox loses her parents to a cholera outbreak in India, she is sent to live with her uncle, the reclusive Archibald Craven, in an isolated manor on the British heath. The manor is steeped in grief and mystery, haunted by the memory of Archibald’s late wife, Lily, whose death has left the family fractured. Mary discovers her cousin Colin, a sickly boy hidden away, burdened by guilt and his father’s sorrow. As Mary explores her new home, she uncovers Lily’s hidden, neglected garden and resolves to bring it back to life. With the help of spirited local villagers and the lingering presence of those who have passed on, Mary’s determination revives not only the garden but also begins to heal the hearts of everyone around her, showing the transformative power of resilience, love, and hope.
