Class Description:
Intro to Manga/Anime
Come and learn the fundamentals of cartooning and creating comics. Step into the vast real of widely popular Manga/Anime. You will learn the elements of style, line weight and composition for creating your own characters in magna/anime/chibi styles.
Intro to Caricature
We cover the foundational concepts of drawing drawing the human face, where we will push the boundaries of proportion, expression, and stylistic interpretation of a subject in creating a Caricature.
Intro to Cartooning
For those interested in the process of cartoon drawing, this course delves into line, proportions, and movement to convey the deliciously expressive elements of cartoon characters and objects.
Drawing for Comics- Foundations
We will teach the basic understanding of sequential art as it relates to Comic Book art, including settings, characters, dialogue, composition and drawing styles.
Explorations in Drawing
Each student selects a mini project of a specific skill area they want to focus/improve on and the instructor will provide demos and solutions to help accomplish a key breakthrough in their respective drawing goal
Instructor: Rufus ZaeJoDaeus.
Rufusman (a.k.a. Rufus ZaeJoDaeus) has drawn his way through a variety of creative fields over the course of his career as a cartoonist and illustrator. Since graduating with a BFA from Utah State, Rufusman has drawn for storyboards, comics, caricatures, theatre, and an award-winning children's book. Though his creative pursuits vary from balloon sculptures to animation, Rufusman is a storyteller at heart and loves to share what he learns with fellow creatives
