Description: Just Add Water is a fun beginner's watercolor class where we will learn a variety of techniques and create a couple fun pieces that you will be proud to display in your home. I strive to help everyone feel comfortable holding a paintbrush and believe that if you want to be an artist you can be- plus It's JUST PAPER. Don't be afraid to put some paint on it! So let's have some fun, mix some colors, and paint together.
Supplies:
- #–2 & # 6 watercolor brush. Velvettouch Princeton brushes are my favorites *Optional Wash Brush for Beach Scene (Not required. This can be done with the #6 brush)
- Canson 140 lb watercolor paper. You can also use another brand. Please no Masters touch. Keep in mind that other brands will absorb water differently. I will be using Canson.
- Watercolors and Pallet (I prefer tubes put in to the pallet but you can use what you have. If you'd like suggestions, feel free to message me. The is the brand I"ll be using in class for demonstrations is Mijello Mission. However, most watercolor brands will have similar colors so please grab a brand that is in your price range. It will need the standard colors of blues, red, yellow (yellow and yellow ochre), green, black, and brown.*if you choose paints already in a pan, you do not need an additional pallet
- Mixing tray (you can use a white plate, the inside of the pallet, a butcher tray)
- Masking Artist Tape
Location: TAF Creative Arts Center, 53 W. Main St., American Fork
Instructor: "Hi! I'm DeAnna. I'm a self-taught watercolor artist who has been teaching art for the past few years. I've loved art since I was young and now I want to pass on my love for art to you. I'm passionate about what I do because I want everyone to feel like they can have fun painting, destress and relax, and realize that everyone's paintings will look different even if we follow the same steps. When I'm not painting, I'm busy being a wife and mom to 4, trying to find all the time I can to travel, spending any time I can outside in the sunshine, looking at all the flowers, and eating all the chocolate, and pizza."
Refund Policy: Participants have 30 days prior to class to notify TAF of changes or cancellations to their registration status to receive a full refund or apply fees to future art class. Closer than 30 days to start of class, registration fees will not be refunded and will be donated to the Timpanogos Arts Foundation.
We want to make sure that your art experience is safe and enjoyable! Please email Debbie Wood, Program Manager at [email protected] , with any questions or concerns about our classes. Thank you for participating!
