Celebrating the American Fork Library's 20th Anniversary

APRIL 13 - 30, 2020

CALLING ALL ARTISTS & ILLUSTRATORS!  Illustrate your favorite book, story or poem through painting, drawing, sculpture or digital media.  

THEME:  Celebrating the written word with art!

YOUTH ARTIST ENTRY RULES:

  1. Must be original works of art, no copyrighted images.
  2. Art should depict the theme from a story, book, poem, folklore, fable, etc.  
  3. Artist must be 3 years old or older to enter a piece.  
  4. Youth Divisions: include High School, Junior High, Intermediate (grades 4-6), Primary (grades 1-3), and Kindergarten/Preschool. 
  5. Only TWO art entries per person.
  6. Entry fee: $10 per entry
  7. THREE CATEGORIES to enter:  1. Traditional Media -  two-dimensional artwork in mediums of oil, acrylic, water media, mixed media, photography, calligraphy, and drawing;  2. Digital Media -  two-dimensional artwork in all digital and computer formats; and 3. Sculpture Media - three-dimensional artwork in stone, clay, wood, bronze, fiberglass, fabric, etc.
  8. Art in the 2-D categories (Traditional and Digital Media) must have a WIRE-HANGER.  Its recommended that art be professionally wired on the back to ensure the art's safety on our hanging systems. Youth art may be matted without a glass frame.
  9. Maximum height or width art dimensions is 24 inches.
  10. Register online BEFORE Monday April 13, 2020.
  11. Artists must honor the Art Release date of Saturday May 2 from 4pm to 6 pm to pick up their work.  Any art left will be fined $10 for storage and handling fees.

ADULT PROFESSIONAL ARTIST ENTRY RULES:

All adult division entries will be juried by professional illustrators.  To be eligible for entrance, all art must be digitally submitted for review to Jason Millward, Art Show Director, at [email protected] by midnight on April 6, 2020.  You will receive a show acceptance email by April 10th to confirm your spot in the art show.

  1. Must be original works of art, no copyrighted images.

  4. Entry fee: $15 per entry.
  5. Submit a digital image in a jpg file to the Art Show Director, Jason Millward via email: [email protected] by midnight on April 6, 2020!
  6. THREE CATEGORIES to enter:  1. Traditional Media -  two-dimensional artwork in mediums of oil, acrylic, water media, mixed media, photography, calligraphy, and drawing;  2. ART DROP-OFF:
MONDAY April 13 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the American Fork Library (64 S 100 E, American Fork, UT 84003). You will need to show the proof of registration form from your confirmation email via electronic device or print out of email.  Then bring confirmation to Art Drop-off. Youth may register at the library as well with cash, check, or credit card.

AWARDS:
Award recipients will be selected by the Art Show judges. Entries in the Youth and Adult Divisions may be awarded first, second, and third place ribbons in each category. Honorable mention awards may also be given. Juried Adult Division will be awarded Sponsor Awards from the Friends of the Library, Timpanogos Arts Foundation, City of American Fork and local businesses.

ARTIST RECEPTION:
Date: TBA at 7 pm with a concert and awards ceremony at the American Fork Library.

ART RELEASE: 

Artists must honor the Art Release date of  Saturday May 2 from 4pm to 8 pm to pick up their work.  Any art left after May 1st, will be fined $10 for storage and handling fees.
