AFVA Sculpture: Portraits in Clay
by Jason Millward, Millward Fine Art and Design
Learn how to create a portrait in clay, called a maquette. A maquette is a French word for a scale model or rough draft of an unfinished sculpture. A maquette is used to visualize and test forms and ideas without incurring the expense and effort of producing a full-scale piece in stone!
